Powerhouse

At one time the Powerhouse provided electricity and water to the plant as well as all of the residents living in Old Hickory Village. To keep customers happy and satisfied, operation of the Powerhouse required as much as 1,200 tons of coal and about 2 million gallons of water every 24 days. Today, the Powerhouse no longer supplies services to the Village, but is the heart of the Sontara®, Crystar®, DMT, DTF, and Reemay® plants.
